Amazon has been operating in Poland since 2014. In 2020, the American Chamber of Commerce announced that it is also the largest American employer and the third largest American investor in Poland To date, the company has created more than 18,000 jobs in 9 modern logistics centers: Sady (Poznań), Sosnowiec, Kołbaskowo (Szczecin), two facilities in Bielany Wrocławskie, Pawlikowice (Łódź), Łódź, Okmiany (Bolesławiec) and Gliwice, as well as in the Amazon Web Services office and Amazon Technology Development Center in Gdańsk, which provides innovative solutions to support Amazon products and services worldwide, including Alexa voice solutions. In 2021, the 10th center in Świebodzin will launch, creating more than 1,000 new full-time jobs. Since the start of the pandemic, all Amazon divisions have made it a top priority to keep employees safe, investing more than $11.5 billion in 2020 to achieve this goal. Included in this amount is an investment of more than $1.2 billion for temperature measuring devices, masks, gloves, improved cleaning and disinfection processes, testing, and more. In Poland, Amazon has provided its employees with more than 19.5 million pairs of gloves, more than 7.2 million masks, 37.1 million disinfectant wipes and 141.3 million packs of hand sanitizer, and has made more than 150 significant process changes to improve safety. Amazon.co.uk's website launched on March 2, 2021. Its customers can shop at affordable prices, choosing from a catalog of more than 100 million products and over 30 categories, and enjoy reliable, free delivery on orders that meet certain conditions.
